Forge + Form Earrings Workshop

Join Mend Metalworks in Durango, Colorado for a  silversmithing workshop where you'll create your own pair of sterling silver earrings while learning foundational jewelry-making techniques. Create a pair of sterling silver earrings that are entirely your own.

In this hands-on silversmithing workshop, you'll learn the foundations of jewelry fabrication while designing and making a pair of handcrafted earrings from sterling silver. Choose from a collection of templates or create your own simple shape, then personalize your earrings with texture, stamping, hammering, and your choice of colorful gemstone beads.

Whether you've never picked up a jeweler's saw or you're looking for a creative day in the studio, this workshop is designed to give you a fun, approachable introduction to traditional metalsmithing techniques.

Workshop Details

Time: 10 AM – 2:00 PM
Location: Mend Metalworks Studio
Workshop Fee: $200 + materials

During the workshop, you'll learn how to:

• Use a jeweler's saw to cut sheet metal
• File, refine, and shape your design
• Add texture with hammers and metal stamps
• Sand and polish sterling silver
• Use a torch to create decorative silver ball accents
• Finish and assemble a pair of wearable earrings

At the end of the day, you'll leave with a finished pair of handcrafted earrings and the confidence that comes from making them yourself.

Materials

Workshop tuition covers instruction, studio tools, and consumable supplies.

Sterling silver, ear wires, beads, and any optional upgrades are purchased separately during class so you can create a pair that fits both your style and your budget.

Most students can expect to spend $30–$100 on materials, depending on student choice.
