7 Dwarfs Variscite Bolo Tie | Sterling Silver | Handmade in Durango

This bolo tie features a striking 7 Dwarfs Variscite from central Nevada — a mine known for producing some of the most coveted variscite in the American Southwest. Each stone from this small deposit is unique, with patterns and colors that vary from mint to seafoam to deep green, often laced with warm brown matrix.

This piece showcases a long, teardrop-inspired stone with a wide, organic base and beautifully balanced color: a brown matrix edge along the left, soft seafoam green across the right, and a delicate brown vein tracing the outer rim. 

Set on an oval sterling silver bezel plate (1½" × 1"), the metalwork has been oxidized and weathered, then polished to a subtle sheen. The surface carries the marks of its making — evidence of human hands — and the glow of silver burnished by patience.

Finished on a 4mm dark brown leather cord with handmade sterling silver bolo tips, this piece balances refinement and ruggedness — a modern heirloom rooted in the desert.

About the Stone:
The 7 Dwarfs mine is a small, now privately held deposit in Nevada’s Candelaria Hills. Material from this site is scarce and prized for its soft pastel greens and golden-brown host rock — often mistaken for turquoise but rarer still. Each piece of 7 Dwarfs Variscite tells a story of earth’s artistry and limited abundance.

Meaning:
Variscite is known as a stone of heart alignment and peace — its greens soothe the nervous system while its grounding tones steady the spirit. This bolo embodies that balance: light and dark, stillness and strength, art and earth.
