Every hero’s journey begins with a call to adventure—yours starts here. A custom piece from Mend Metalworks is more than jewelry; it’s a tangible reflection of transformation, resilience, and personal mythology. This agreement sets the stage for the creative process ahead, ensuring we are aligned in bringing your vision to life with intention and artistry.
The Custom Experience
The first step is choosing a path—each tier offers variety in the rarity and quality of the stone. No matter which path you take, your options for design remain wide open.
Tier Options & Deposits:
- ✨ The Seeker’s Tier – $250 deposit
- 🔥 The Alchemist’s Tier – $350 deposit
- 🌟 The Ultimate Boon – $500 deposit
Your deposit secures your place in my queue, covers the initial consultation, and allows me to source the perfect stone within your selected tier. This deposit is non-refundable, as it signifies our mutual commitment to the creation of your one-of-a-kind piece. The final price of your jewelry will be determined based on labor, materials, complexity, and additional design elements we incorporate. The full amount is due when the piece is complete and ready to ship.
The Collaborative Process
Each custom piece unfolds like a story, moving through key stages of design and craftsmanship. Here’s how we’ll bring your vision to life:
1. The Call – Securing Your Place
Once your deposit is made, you’re officially on the path to your custom creation. I will be in touch with you within a week and we will begin our journey by selecting a stone that speaks to you—one that carries energy, beauty, and meaning aligned with your story.
2. The Discovery – Shaping the Vision
This is where your design takes form. I’ll work with you to refine the details, ensuring your piece reflects your personal journey. Depending on the complexity of your design, this may include:
- Sketching concepts to bring the vision into focus.
- Stone & silver arrangement previews for a more tangible feel.
- Two rounds of design refinements to ensure alignment before crafting begins.
3. The Transformation – Bringing it to Life
Once we finalize the design, I begin the alchemy—fire, metal, and stone coming together to create something uniquely yours. This is where patience is key; great things take time. The typical timeline is 6-12 weeks from deposit to completion, though this may vary based on my queue and design complexity.
4. The Return – Your Completed Piece
When your jewelry is finished, you’ll receive a final invoice for any remaining balance. Once payment is received, your piece will be carefully packaged and sent off to you—a talisman of your journey, ready to be worn and cherished.
Investment & Final Payment
Your deposit initiates the creative process and is applied toward the final cost of your piece. The remaining balance is due upon completion, prior to shipping. Final pricing depends on:
- The chosen stone and any accent stones.
- The complexity of the design.
- Time and materials required for fabrication.
Payment can be made through my website via credit card, PayPal, ShopPay (where you can select an extended payment plan) or other available options.
Sacred Materials – Working With Client-Supplied Stones
If you have a stone with deep personal significance that you’d like me to work with, I’d love to discuss the possibilities. However, client-supplied stones come with inherent risks, as I cannot guarantee their durability during setting. By choosing to incorporate your own stone, you accept the responsibility for any potential breakage. I very rarely accept this type of custom work. But it is not completely out of the question. Speak with me.
The Creative Code – Originality & Inspiration
Every piece I create is deeply personal and original. I welcome your ideas, sketches, and inspirations, but I do not replicate other artists’ designs. Instead, we’ll work together to craft something that is uniquely Mend—something that tells your story in a way that is authentic, fresh, and aligned with your vision.
If you’ve been inspired by past Mend Metalworks designs, feel free to send some reference photos from my Gallery or Instagram. I strongly encourage this, as it will help guide the creative process while ensuring that your piece remains one-of-a-kind.
Patience & Process – Custom Jewelry Takes Time
Custom work is a labor of love. The process takes at least 6-12 weeks, depending on the complexity of the piece and my current workload. This timeline ensures that every detail is given the attention it deserves. If you have a specific deadline in mind, please let me know upfront so we can discuss what’s possible.
Revisions & Approval
Your feedback is a crucial part of the journey. Once your design is presented, we’ll go through up to two rounds of refinements to make sure it aligns with your vision. Once approved, I will move forward with fabrication, where adjustments become difficult or impossible. This is important to keep in mind, as having to take the piece apart or start over will impact the final cost. This is why your feedback is so invaluable.
Once the metal is soldered, the piece is set in motion—a commitment to the path we’ve created together.
Returns, Cancellations & Commitment to the Process
Because each custom piece is crafted specifically for you, all sales are final. Deposits are non-refundable, except in rare cases where I determine a project is not possible to complete. If, at any point, you feel uncertain, please communicate with me as soon as possible.
This process requires trust, patience, and collaboration—the same things that make any creative journey meaningful.
